Nashville employment lawyer Curt Masker has dedicated his career to fighting on behalf of working people. Curt has a proven track record of successfully representing Tennessee workers in wrongful termination cases. He actively keeps his caseload as low as possible so he can tailor his legal services to address each client’s unique needs and goals.
Curt does not represent employers or companies; instead, he exclusively represents individuals. Curt is a relentless advocate for his clients and he strives to achieve the best possible outcome in each case. He provides assertive and highly responsive representation.
Curt’s approach to litigation is based on the firm belief that only vigorous trial preparation can yield the best results for his clients. He often hires expert witnesses to further establish employer liability and calculate the full scope of damages suffered by his clients.
Put simply, Curt levels the playing field for working people who have been wronged by their employers.
Professional Background
After graduating from Vanderbilt Law School, Curt worked at one of the 200 largest law firms in the United States. He then worked for a small plaintiffs’ law firm in Nashville, where he spent his days learning the complexities of employment litigation. Curt founded The Masker Firm in 2020, where he represented everyday workers in disputes with their employers. In 2023, Curt parlayed The Masker Firm’s success to team up with his brilliant life partner, Caraline Rickard, and formed Rickard Masker, PLC, a Tennessee-based law firm dedicated to representing individuals in wrongful termination cases.
Curt was selected as a Super Lawyers® Mid-South Rising Star in 2021 and 2022, a distinction limited to only 2.5% of lawyers in Tennessee. Most recently, Curt has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch every year since 2022. Best Lawyers are selected by peer-review survey based on their professional abilities and reputations.
He is a member of the Nashville Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Tennessee Employment Lawyers Association, and the National Employment Lawyers Association. Curt has also completed extensive litigation skills training through the well-respected National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
Personal Background
Curt was raised on the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He stayed in Michigan for his undergraduate education but moved to Tennessee to complete law school, where he quickly felt at home thanks to Nashville’s small-town hospitality and natural beauty. Outside of the office, you can find him exploring Shelby Bottoms Greenway with Ruthie, reading a book on his back porch in East Nashville, or cooking dinner alongside his better half, Caraline.
